Looking to borrow some old gear for educational purposes (St. George)

Hey ya'll,

I'm here in Utah doing some scouting for an education trip I will be leading next week. It's specifically a wildlife focused trip, but we will be going through Zion, and I know there will be questions about climbing. When I guide in Yosemite, I always bring a bit of old gear with me as an educational aid, but when I left California, I didn't think to bring it with.

I was wondering if anyone had any I could borrow. Specifically things like an old rigid stem friend, maybe a piton, a couple ovals, maybe a locker and a stopper. The older the better. I would need to borrow it from maybe the 29th through June 7th preferably from someone in the St. George area as that is where we will be starting and ending. I would be willing to put some sort of reasonable deposit as well, but I am a stand up guy and you can count on me to return the pieces.

You can contact my via e-mail at fackerman@gmail.com if you would like to help me spread the gospel of climbing to the masses.

Thanks guys!

Fred, if you haven't gotten any responses just yet you might want to head down to the Desert Rat in St. George. They'd be able to point you in the right direction, if not actually help you out with said items.

That being said, the Human History Museum in Zion has a small climbing exhibit that I have found useful when leading education trips in the area. It is also a nice air-conditioned building that offers some shade and great views for little effort after a hot day of hiking around.

Have a good trip!

Fred, I can probably help you out with at least some of those things. I'll email you.

Folks laugh at the old stuff on my rack! You could borrow all that stuff if you can get to Cannonville. Wish you well.
