Hello! I am currently on an extended, year long trip in South America, and I am looking for trekking/mountaineering/climbing partners.
My trip is not exclusively climbing focused, but I want to do some sort of trekking/climbing in all the countries I visit. Because it is not exclusive mountain-focused, I opted to not carry my climbing equipment with me for the entire year, through rainforests and mountains, the length of south america.
Thus, I am mostly looking for trekking partners. However, I would also be ecstatic if I were able to borrow gear and climb with someone. Also, though I do not have much snow experience, I plan to attempt some technical high elevation routes with either a hired guide or a competent partner, and I plan to explore some less technical high elevation routes.
I spent the last two months in Ecuador with a friend on the coast. I just traveled north to colombia. I plan to reach the Caribbean and then head south back through Colombia, ecuador, perú, bolivia, argentina, and chile. My schedule is flexible, and I will also be spending some significant time in the Amazon.
Rough itinerary:
april to mid june --> Colombia
Mid June to July --> Ecuador (Considering climbing Cotopaxi with a guide in july)
July to september --> Peru October --> Bolivia,
November to January? February? --> Chile/Argentina
Hit me up if you want to meet up in an epic place!
I am probably in Argentina/chile between January and March. Traveling like you, so probably will probably only bring sportclimbing stuff, but if you have a harness and shoes I've got the rest covered if you want to buddy up? :)
