Potentially old bolts (?) located above fluffernut...
Small sandstone crag that offers bouldering and trad lines up to 35 ft. Look Rock is divided into two climbing areas: Lower Look Rock and Upper Look Rock. Lower Look Rock is situated below the main parking area, while Upper Lock Rock is directly below the observation tower. Area does not see much traffic from climbers, so there are not many official routes drawn up, but this will hopefully change. No permanent anchors to speak of, but there are plenty of bomber trees to use to build an anchor with. Top-roping is possible with at least 50' of webbing, but probably not ideal. For the majority of the routes, topping out seems like the best option.
Take 321 N from Maryville, TN. Turn right on Foothills Parkway entrance. Go straight up parkway 10 miles until you reach the Look Rock parking area on your left. Main top-rope wall is below parking via a few obvious unmarked trails. Rap down, or walk east to the bottom of the cliff line, then back west to the climbs. Go up paved trail across from parking lot to the Look Rock tower. Bouldering is below directly below tower.

Once surmounting that move, you should find generous enough holds to complete the route. Route could be climbed traditionally, but the tricky part is the top-out, which has a precarious angle to it, not to mention lack of trees to use for anchoring. You will notice that bolts existed here at ...[more]Browse More Classics in TN
We top roped like 10-12 routes and bouldered about the same around 6-8 years ago while my wife was finishing up at UT and found it pretty fun and easy to set up. This a perfect little crag if you're visiting the Townsend/Cades Cove side of the Smokies.
