Lehigh Gorge State Park is a popular destination for many outdoor activities, with climbing being one of the less well-known. There are climbing routes of all styles here, on conglomerate rock.
Roped climbing areas in Lehigh Gorge include Eagle Cliff, with 30+ trad routes (and its evil twin across the gorge), Glen Onoko waterfalls with their winter ice, Gorgeous Rocks with a couple dozen routes of various styles, and Heschell Cliff with a couple of topropes. Bouldering areas include the Glen Onoko Falls Trail, Gorgeous Rocks, Gunk's Boulder, Lehigh Gorge Trail and Turn Hole Tunnel.
Most of these require trail hiking and/or bushwhacking to reach.
The land is managed by Lehigh Gorge State Park
. The nearest town is Jim Thorpe, a scenic and popular tourist destination. This is a mixed blessing, since you have a few choices for meals, but you may pay extra for them, and for parking.
Coordinates given are for the Glen Onoko area parking lot.

This would include another boulder-start that is capped by a small ceiling. Both lines are very fun and full of great movements on stellar rock....[more] Browse More Classics in PA
