BETA PHOTO: The taller, more impressive left side of the 8000 ...

This is the taller and more impressive portion of the crag that despite it's broken appearances offers a number of fun climbs on solid and highly featured granite.

Many of the climbs here are fairly new and see little traffic so don't be surprised if they seem a bit dirty.

Out of Sight 5.10b 6a+ 19 VII- E2 5b  CA : San Bernardino Mountains : ... : Left Side
One of the better routes here, this climbs an easy slab to a ledge midway before tackling the prominent steep arete near the left margin of the crag. Despite appearances the upper section goes at an easier grade than one might imagine and is quite enjoyable with good movement on solid rock. This route originally started from the midway ledge via a traverse in from the left on loose holds, but more recently a 4 bolt direct variation was added making this a much more enjoyable venture....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA
