Tony Horness on the FA of Lay Blackie

Description

Face climbing moves up the black stain. This route stays on grade most of the way with a reprise at the ledge below the crux move at the top.

Location

This route is the second one from the left side and is obvious because of the black stain running the length of the route

Protection

B,C

This is a fun climb. There is a slabby start until the third bolt (tightly bolted route - very safe!) Crux is at the end of the route, last move before the chains. Committing, protected, and very cool move to reach a jug at the top of the route.

Fun climb. Most of it seems easier than the climb to the left (Wound2Tight) with only the top moves being 5.10. Water seeping out at the top makes things a little more interesting.
