Description

If you have correct info to FA's, route names etc. please contact me and let me know - Ill make the proper corrections

Some of Unaweep's best bouldering. This area has been recently developed, and a lot of great problems have popped up within the past year.

GETTING THERE FROM THE PULLOUT:
Head up the hill, through the fence (make sure you close the cowboys gate, since there are cows around). Follow the trail up and to the left, eventually coming to a Y in the trail. At this point, if you go right, you'll head straight up to the Bat Caves bouldering area, but if you go to the left, across a field, you'll eventually hit the main area. About 10 minutes to get there from the pullout....

A lot of the problems are in the shade after about 2 or 3 p.m., and make sure you bring water!!

Getting There

Western Colorado, South of Grand Junction between Whitewater and Gateway along CO Hwy 141. From Boulder take I-70 West to US Hwy 50 in Grand Junction towards Ouray (Delta, Montrose). Turn right on CO 141 and follow it into the Canyon. The pullout is exactly 1.3 miles into the canyon as soon as you hit CO 141. The pullout for this area is to the right in front of a bridge. There is also some kind of manufacturing business directly across the road and the Chief Boulders are also directly across the road up the hill.

Ninja Estrogen Tricks V6- 7A  CO : Grand Junction area : ... : The Bat Cave
This problem was 6 months work for me, so I'm definitely emotionally attached to it, even if other folks aren't. This problem starts on the right/center side of the Bat Cave on a HUGE jug. From there, match a heel, and move up some positive holds and out the roof to a positive rail. From there, match on some crimps, and make a big move to the obvious jug. I had to do this in a very dynamic way, but I've seen someone static it as well. From there, make a few easy moves before a big move to the sl...[more]   Browse More Classics in CO

I've included a link to a blog that I found both interesting and relevant considering the Late Bloomer area is attracting more users.

Sounds good, and best of luck, Brad! Definitely not my problem though. I saw a few people send it a few years ago, way before I could drag my butt around that lip ;). Don't remember their names, I think they were from the Rifle or Roaring Fork area? Anyway, I thought it was a good one, and thought it deserves some love!

I've added some organization to the Late Bloomer area. In doing so, I named the boulders according to the information that was already present on existing pages, but a few of the boulder names were not listed. So I took the liberty of arbitrarily naming them. Please let me know if you have any information regarding the names/corrections/additions, and I will revise them.
