Lassie's Wall Rock Climbing
Me (second from left) with my newest Aussie friend...
Lassie's wall is home to a number of classic, casual routes and the most likely place to be overrun by a group of 5th graders. When the tide is up with big seas the waves can break onto the ledge at the base of the routes, so be mindful of where you leave things laying around. Freycinet is home to some of the best granite anywhere and Lassie's wall is no exception. There is easy access to the top of the routes for setting up top ropes.
From the camping area at the end of the dirt track, walk south along the trail at the cliffline to approximately where the "vehicles prohibited" sign is. Take a trail down onto a north sloping ramp that gets you down onto the large ledge that is at the base of the routes on Lassie's Wall.
