Description

Lake Lanier is located about an hour North of Atlanta, GA. It is a beautiful, massive lake with 39,000 acres of water and 692 miles of shoreline. During the winter of 2008 the lake was 15-20 below "full pool" level. During this time, many rocks that were underwater since the lake was completed in 1956 were sitting on dry land, waiting for FA's.

I have seen multiple exposed crags on the Northern part of the Lake, mainly where the Chattahoochee River comes in. I have also bouldered some crags in the 20' tall range when the water level was low up North in the Little River area. As for now, the water is back up and the boulders are once again covered.

Getting There

"The Roche Cove" can be found off of Chestnut Hill Rd., Cumming,GA.
