The Lake George region has a very long season, can heat up in the summer (but not unbearable) ive found the prime climbing seasons to be late spring (too early in spring and you might run into a bit of water and seeping on some cliffs) and fall, even with snow on the ground i have scavenged some great days on the rock surrounding a frozen lake with a bustling tourist town to return to and grab some food.

The routes described are only a hit of what exists in these areas, please purchase the guide book Adirondack Rock ( for full descriptions and updated route information.

Rock Climbing Photo: Making the move to gain the sloping ledge.

Three Degrees Of Separation 5.10a 6a 18 VI+ 18 E1 5a  NY : Adirondacks : ... : Carhartt Wall
This route is classic in my opinion. Sustained and varied climbing with exposure and solid rock. I'm not sure if the climb's name refers to this, but there are certainly three distinct portions of this route. Part one - climb a steep face on nice holds clipping a few bolts as you go. A cruxy mantle move gains a sloping ledge below a crack in a left facing corner. Part two - climb the short, but steep corner (gear here) to a hands free stance on the right edge of the face.
