Will it be too hot to climb Kraft boulders the first week in May? If so, any nearby areas that might be cooler?

Thanks.

Hard to know. First of May can be amazing or nuclear. You should be able to chase shade if it's warm. Or climb early and late in the day and spend the middle around a pool.

Thanks Eric. That was my guess, but I figured a local would know best. Much appreciated.

FA's can be scary. Photo by DeAngelo

Average temps (highs and lows) for Blue Diamond but temps could vary 10-15 degrees either way pretty easily.

Enjoying beautiful Red Rocks.

If it's hot at Kraft simply walking back to Gateway Canyon will usually find pleasant temps. Willow Springs, back in the canyon, has some well shaded bouldering as well.
