Kid Rock from near the parking lot...

Description

A small crag with a couple of fun diversions, close to the parking lot, nice rock, shade in the afternoon.

A couple of routes to be done here, the highlight of which would be Small Fry, an excellent first lead and good practice for clipping bolts and a fixed anchor. Also are a couple of harder routes to keep the tough guys and gals busy.

Can be crowded; A great kids crag.

Getting There

About a 1 to 3 minute approach to the north from the small parking lot at Castle Rock. A Good trail leads right to it, well used staging area at the base.

Small Fry 5.5  ID : Castle Rocks : ... : Kid Rock
A nice kids' route, or, a fun lead for folks just breaking into lead climbing. The route is fairly low angle with maybe not as many big hand holds for the uninitiated-to-friction climber. Very good foot holds in low angle divots. High hand hold might be tough to grab for folks just getting past the first bolt, but, a mantle off the low rail edge, with good feet position, and, you're off to the races.Fun!...[more]   Browse More Classics in ID
