Granite rock, with no shade. It's right off the road with a very easy approach, but you have to go through an old barb-wired fence (easy to get past). There's 3 established routes that range from 5.9 to 5.9+.

Getting There

Park in a turn out to the right (south 178) about 22 miles up the canyon going east and about a 1/2 below the road sigh that reads "Boreal Rd, 1 Mile", or 5.1 miles from the Lake Isabella exit going west. Looking north you will see the Kern Canyon MBC right off the road. Cross the road and through a barb wire fence.

Climbing Season

For the The Needles / Kern River area.

Weather station 10.4 miles from here

The crux is right around 50' where the crack flairs out. This is a really fun route that you can either top rope (approach from the left side of the wall), or led via trad. There's a belay bolt just to the left of the crack on top of the face....[more]   Browse More Classics in CA

Went today to climb this spot, but discovered that the anchors at the top have been damaged. My buddy and I are going to try and rebolt the anchors later.

Zach Badger. Are you talking about the single hanger anchors? That stinks about them being damaged. Did you use my entry to find these routes?
