Description

The entire Southern Region as well as Hampton's Wall and Muir Valley are located in the Kentucky River watershed. For the most part these climbing areas are located in what is known as the Big Sinking Oil field. The oil industry is prevalent in the area. You can't miss the wells and the impact that oil extraction has caused.

Getting There

Various approaches are required to different climbing areas. The main road to access this region of climbing is hwy 11 south of Slade.

Currently the whole Muir Valley area is closed due to work being done on the road.
Supposedly several accidents happened on the road and the two owners decided to close the area until the road was safer.
