Kalalea Mountain is often refered to as King Kong, because it resembles king kongs profile from the side. This mountain is located in Anahola, Kauai and is covered in vegetation and poor quality rock that breaks easily. But it was still a blast to climb in such a lush vegetated location.
Drive to Anahola Kauai and you will see it. Approach from the northern side if my memory serves me correct.
Stranded in Paradise is not a high quality Rock route by most standards, but it was a blast and alot of fun to summit this awesome peak. This route if my memory serves me correct (its been 7 or 8 years or so now) follows the East or southeastern ridge which would be the face of king kong. Interested in climbing this on my next visit...can you provide any more info about the anchors? Did you bolt them yourself, and if so, what did you use? Can you remember much about the approach-where did you park to get to the base?
