BETA PHOTO: Johnny Cash Falls, somewhat snow covered. Sunday ...

A set of ice falls across the Nanana River outside of Healy Alaska. Two routes approx 50 meters WI3.

Getting There

Pull into the parking pull off at Bison Gulch along the Parks Highway south of Healy, Alaska. Scramble down to Bison Gulch and head down stream. When you reach the mouth of the gulch head left (down river). The falls are across the river on the right side about 700 meters down. Be sure to watch out for snow bridges covering exposed whirlpools.

This should be included in Interior Alaska/Alaska Range, perhaps under a new Parks Highway/Nenana River area along with Fox, Dragonfly, and Jack River. For a more comprehensive guide check out
