Description

Joe's Hill is the small hill across the drainage from Leatherman's Cave. The hill has several boulders with some decent problems. I believe the area was mainly developed by Aaron Back and a few other locals.

Getting There

Hike as you would to get to the Leatherman's cave and continue hiking up and right up Joe's Hill.

The dihedral is in the lower right of the photo. The squeeze to the left (a fun V0) can be spotted from a little further away.

This is an amazing overhanging finger crack in a short dihedral. Start sitting burrowed down in at the base of the dihedral, where the crack is at a big-finger size. Make a few moves through the perfect to tight fingers, then turn the lip. I found exiting to the left to be a bit easier, but you could also go straight up using the small left-facing arÍte formed by the right wall. Scramble off to the right.I don't boulder much so don't really know about the grade, but it felt like pretty solid 5.1...[more]   Browse More Classics in NY
