DescriptionWithin short distance of Jaén capital there are numerous crags with many possibilities to choose from. The majority of rock is beautiful Andalucian limestone that at times can be rough on the hands but makes for amazing foot placement. Summers can be terribly hot but there it’s still possible to climb if you know where you are going. Many crags are within a short distance of the city center and for that reason the crags can become busy but rarely does that actually happen. Jaén is a hidden gem for the climbing community in southern Spain but it’s becoming more and more popular as more and more people discover it’s possibilities. Within 30km of the city there approximately 10-13 crags that holds some 700 or more routes combined. Getting ThereIt is possible to fligh into Madrid, Malaga or Granada airports and catch a train or bus to Jaén capital. it is also very possible to rent a car to give you more options to climb in the many different crags around the city.
