Description Suggest change

Mixed climbing on south facing sandstone.  Routes tend to be short but still pumpy on mixed quality stone.  Despite many of the routes containing choss, being short, and consistently being wet, the climbing somehow remains good for the most part.  While probably not the reason you are coming to Cave Creek, these routes are worth getting on.

Getting There Suggest change

The standard downclimb approach will spit you right in the middle of this area.  The first route you will see is Gravity Slab on the right; continuing right will get you to the rest of the routes on the gravity slab wall, as well as access the east side of the Hippie Wall area. Heading left after the downclimb will bring you to the Meltdown wall, which contains Snake, Rattle, and Roll and Thermonuclear Meltdown.

If you take the dog walk approach, continue East past the Hippie wall. This will be obvious aclove at the end of multi-tiered choss amphitheater, with Pagans and Apostles being the first bolted route you approach.
