Description

This area is new for Mountain Project, and is just getting started. Feel free to contribute!

Kho Phi-Phi Island. As most people are aware, this island was devastated in the December 2004 tsunami. The island has recovered well from the disaster, back on its feet, with the majority of buildings reconstructed and businesses eager to welcome people back.
The birthplace of and original climbing destination for Thailand. Well developed with many places to stay and a functioning ATM. Very popular with tourists and divers, the island offers perfect beaches, excellent snorkeling, great diving, challenging game fishing and lots of activities like rock climbing, kayaking and local boat trips.

Phi Phi actually consists of two islands, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley.

Getting There

Rev de Phi Phi Dom 5.10c  International : Thailand : ... : Tonsai Tower
One of the finer routes on the Tonsai Tower, for the reason that it keeps going up, up, up! The climbing becomes more varied the higher up you go. There are 4 standard pitches, the first 3 are .10, the 4th is .11 and the fifth is .12b. The .12b pitch reportedly has not been retrobolted, and is probably extremely hazardous in it's current state.p1 & 2--start just left of the trail up from the beach. You can use any of the routes in that corner...[more]   Browse More Classics in International

Get Wee's book when you get there, no offense Sam but its way better and is still only like 10 bucks when you get there. The Tonsai Tower is chalk full of good moderate climbing. Loved it.
