Description 

There are 3 routes at Owl Rock, so far, plus a project that has been toproped. WARNING: It is best not climb on Owl Rock from December to April. There is an owl nest in the hole at the 7th bolt on Bloody Head, containing a very mad mother owl with sharp claws. Her attack on a climber resulted in the name of the climb.

Getting There 

This crag lies about ½ km south of Dove Rock. In 2004, accessing Owl Rock involved crossing over some recently torn down buildings (December 2002) 100 m north of the “T” intersection near the cable car terminal. Ascend any of the narrow trails through crop fields for about ½ km. Access probably has changed significantly due to construction of the new highway in 2005-2006. Basically, you will see the low orange face of Owl Rock above the fields, left of the cable car tower. Make your way to the base of the rock.
