Climbers have access up to the roped fence. Owners do not want climbers going down to the river. There is also livestock that roams the forest. Please keep your dogs under control. Boulders on east side of river are off limits.
A classic Hunter Creek highball. Grendel's is an intimidating & committing line that is not attempted often.
Climb the face with the overlaps and small dihedrals. Delicate smearing and technical moves lead to a crack at about 15ft. Easier laybacking leads to jugs out right and an easy top-out.
Location
On the lare boulder behind the Warm Up Boulder. Follow the trail from the Warm Up boulder towards the Bear Skull boulder and the problem is just off the trail halfway between.
Protection
pads... spotters... the ability to not fall after teh crux...
