one of many boulders in the campground.

Description

Most of the boulders here at Comox Lake have great potential with already a good handful of classic bouldering problems for you enjoyment. To get an overview of the area you can pick up a local Comox Valley Climbing Book at Valhalla in town. The rock is classic Vancouver Island rock mostly basalt i think but it is mostly firm. Because of it's rain forest-like climate it is always nice to bring a brush to help scrub your next favorite boulder. There is still boulders to be developed that have your name on it!

enjoy

Getting There

From HWY #19 take exit #17 and turn left to go into cumberland. Go straight until you reach Dunsmuir rd. Drive down Dunsmuir until you see a sign that says "Comox Lake" with an arrow pointing left. Drive until you hit the lake.

(just before the lake there is a small but fun bouldering spot called the Sherman Boulders. follow the trails in the clear cut just after the bridge.
