Description
This crag has been a training area for Jasper mountaineers since 1968 and has a rich history of run out climbs with marginal pin protection. It has in the last ten years been redone into a nice sport climbing area with
Shady and sheltered from the wind, north-east facing crag is 20 minutes from Jasper. Climbing is on steep limestone with around 50 descent one pitch routes (there is more) ranging in difficulty from 5.7 to 5.12, with the vast majority being in the 5.11+ range. The rock is limestone and occasionally holds do break but overall the quality is very good.
Remember this is a national park, so please respect all rules and regulations and buy a park pass when you get here. There is NO CAMPING at the crag and you must camp at designated campsites or stay at a hotel in Jasper.

Getting There
Drive east of Jasper on Hwy 16 and turn onto the Maligne Lake Road. Turn left onto a pullout for the "5th bridge" and park. Hike across the bridge and turn left into the forest (do not follow the trail up the river, it will lead you to maligne canyon). Hike for a few minutes then turn left again onto trail "7H". Climb up a hill and where trail "7h" goes right take the trail on the left. Within a few minutes you will come to a fork, to the left is the Boulder gardens and to the right Rock Gardens.
