| Cheryl, we are all so sad here. Preston was one of the warmest guys I knew. Even though I hadn't spoken to him recently, I often thought of him. We will try and come visit in a few weeks. More later..

| I am a friend of Preston's from his other passion, Hockey....
Preston played on our team, The Titan's, the last 2 seasons @ BVICE. I have advised all of his teammates of the very unfortunate news.
Please keep me in the loop on the memorial arrangements so I can advise his teammates.
I am very sorry to hear this unfortunate news but as someone said earlier, at least he was doing what he loved in a place he cherished.
He will be missed!

| Very very sad. Life is indeed precious and a reminder of what really matters, people around you to love and be loved by, and to live life as fully as possible. Sounds like Preston did both to the max. May the miracle of peace and strength somehow find it's way to all you. Gary | |

| To all of those who have posted regarding Preston,
My name is Molly Gruber and my older brother Jeremy has posted here recently. Cheryl Claman-Brennan is my aunt and Willy, Noah, and Talia are three of the coolest cousins that a girl could ask for. I have been away at UCLA Theater Camp for the past three weeks and have been quite out of the loop, but reading these kind posts and well-wishes from the community has warmed my heart. Thank You to everyone who has contributed here, and I cannot thank you enough for the support that you have offered to my Aunt Cheryl. I will always have memories of my Uncle Preston and I will endeavor to keep them close to my heart.
Willy, Noah, Talia, Aunt Cheryl~ I love you guys so much and if you or any of the kids need someone to talk to, I am here for you.
We Love You Uncle Preston!

| To the Brennan Family,
When I think of the Brennan name and family in our home town, my mind is filled with positive images of true love and an authentic way of living.
No doubt I feel this way because Preston exuded your family values every where he went and with each person he encountered in his life.
Your family is a treasure to me, and I am with you in thought and prayer.
Love,

| To all on this website and everywhere else who have ent their good thoughts, prayers and energy all kinds, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have not read this for several days but I needed to see it this morning and it brings me to tears to see just how good and compassionate people truly are. Please know that it is truly a comfort to our family. We are all profoundly grateful that Preston was able to let go on his own and is where he needs to be.
Thank you all again so much - I don't even have the words to express how this means to all of us. (posted by Margot Brennan Graves (Preston's sister) on Cheryl's thing)

| I want to send my thoughts and deepest sympathies to Cheryl and Preston's three children. I have worked closely with Preston in the Golden office of Solar Power Inc. these past seven months, so I really just had begun to get to know him. I do know that Preston and I shared much including a love of our families and children, a love of the outdoors, as well as a strong desire to make a positive difference in the world. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief acquaintance with Preston, and I (& others at SPI) will miss his can-do attitude and fun-loving, humorous approach to work...and more importantly, to life! Safe travels, Preston...your spirit will always be with us. | |

| To Preston’s family, friends and loved ones, please accept my sincere condolences on his passing. As a climber, I struggle for the right words, but they elude me. What keeps going through my mind is: We know neither the time or the place, only the inevitably thereof. But inevitable does not mean we should sit around and wait. On the contrary, we should fight to live every minute we are given.
I did not know Preston, but I gather from these postings that he lived passionately, fought to the end, and died surrounded by his loved ones. He was young, too young we can argue, but who are we to make this call? His young age only drills home our duty to live our respective lives to the very fullest extent possible, to love, to give, to fight to leave this world a better place than how we found it. While we are all deeply saddened by our loss, we should also celebrate Preston’s life and the remarkable number of people he has touched in his passing.
With sincerest sympathies, Tom Stocker July 20, 2008

| Willy, Noah, Talia, Cheryl, and Preston's friends,
I'm so sorry. Climbing Elephants Perch with Preston last summer was one of my best little epics. I've been following the forum and you have a great supportive community. I'll try to come down for the memorial. I've passed on the sad news to my family.

| My husband and I played hockey with Preston at BVICE, and we know him as a kind and always positive influence. He is a wonderful spirit that has passed on too soon for those of us left behind. Our hearts and prayers go out to you-- family and friends of Preston-- Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to help with the memorial bench. Preston's life was a celebration of friendship and family--nothing is more apparent than that in the words of everyone here on this post. | |

| Our heartfelt condolences to what sounds to be a truly vast and wonderful web of loved ones that Preston leaves behind. We'd love to hear some stories about Preston, if you would like to tell them.
This was given to me when someone I loved dearly passed away, thought I'd pass it on - hope it's appropriate. Preston, we'll see you down the road friend.
Bryce Breslin ___
If I die, survive me with such sheer force that you waken the furies of the pallid and the cold, from south to south lift your indelible eyes, from sun to sun dream through your singing mouth. I don't want my heritage of joy to die. Don't call up my person. I am absent. Live in my absence as if in a house. Absence is a house so vast that inside you will pass through its walls and hang pictures on the air. Absence is a house so transparent that I, lifeless, will see you, living, and if you suffer, my love, I will die again.

| Many tears today. My girlfriend and I climbed today always in sight of the Basteile. I just thought about everything that has happened in the past week, It made me think about the 17-years that I have been in the canyon. I never knew Preston, however, when I saw him, my first impression was a gruff looking climber that probably did things back in the day that most of us could only dream of. One of those old school climbers that commands respect. So many of us know those people that we just look up to. Preston, looked like someone I just wanted to have a beer with and really hear his story. I know if I had the chance it would have been amazing. Over the years many tragedy's have happened in the canyon. However, many amazing things have too. I know that personally I have done things that seemed impossibe, both physically, and mentally. Eldo is where I find my spirituality and I know sometimes things that are done can only be explained by those above. Maybe the next time you do something amazing it will be because the amazing spirit of Preston Brennan, and many before him are in your corner. Nothing but profound respect for Preston, his Family. I know these are hard times, and if there is anything I can do. I will. Many prayer, and much love. Micah | |

| Cheryl, Willi, Noah, Talia, and family, My heart goes out to you..I am saddened by this outcome...I honor your courage and strength through this and know that Preston is surrounded in love and is watching over your family...I, along with so many others, have been praying for healing and loving arms to make this experience as grace filled as possible. I will continue to hold you in my prayers and in love and light. In the short time I came into contact with Preston as I cared for your children, I loved our conversations about life and the funny way he had of keeping things in perspective yet with his own true conviction as well. He will be deeply missed and always loved.
With peace and honor, Savanna
