Description
This area is in a little canyon with a winding road connecting a tiny town to the middle of nowhere. It has limestone buttresses and faces ranging from dirt to solid but most of the routes are solid. You might cut your hands up a little bit on a few. Since there are routes on the north and south of the road you'll find at least some routes in the sun most days, but the climbing season is short because MT is a cold place.
Getting There
Go to the bridge just north of Townsend, MT which is 29 miles southeast of Helena or 31 miles north of I-90 exit 274 on Hwy 287. Just north of the bridge there is a road marked Indian Creek heading west, it forks after 400 feet, head right on Indian Creek for 3.6 miles. Take a left at the Indian Creek Ranger Station sign and go for 1.6 miles to a small parking area on the right. You will have seen all the crags on the way to the parking area, so walk back a couple hundred feet to the rock.
