I was involved in a climbing accident on September 9 this year. I was climbing Aires and on the ledge above the first pitch, I fell off. I ended up decking... and it wasn't anyone's fault by my own clumsiness. The result was me shattering my right foot, my left foot is fractured in a couple spots, a bruise on my butt (right side), and a sprained left wrist.
There was another climber at Index that day, I believe his day was Josh. He carried me to my car, where I went to the ER from there. From the little that I spoke with Josh, he is a mountain guide out of Jackson, WY and Alaska. He had a black backpack with Jackson Hole embroidered on it.
What I'm hoping to accomplish, besides answer any questions about this mishap, is to get in touch with Josh and express my gratitude for what he did and give him an update on my status. I know climbing accidents often happen without any followup.
