I can't stop farting on hard crux moves. I feel at times it helps because it gives me an extra little burst but other times I fear I may shart myself, so I waste my core strength attempting to hold in.

What should I do?

The great Cedar Wright sharted before sending one of the gnarliest roof cracks in Yosemite while being filmed for First Ascent. YMMV

This product should allow you to send with confidence. Might have to go up a size in your harness.

In the hindsight, this should've been obvious ;)

Went on multipitch after having root canal done, and after taking the preventive dosage of antibiotics.
Things started moving somewhere around 2p.
Made it to the top.
Made the walk-off.
Made it to the porta-potty.
Hardest climbing of my life, but I held my shit together...

All the ruffage my health freak wife feeds me paired with the beer doesn't help.

Near my limit I tend to shake when I'm moving thru a crux.

Do your nerves vary with climbing style or rock type? I know my nerves get especially stressed when I climb slab.

I do the same and call it my turbo boost. I have never been concerned about releasing more that just a bit of gas though.

Brown climbing pants. Don't be afraid to fire the nitros.
Is it a brown-point if you send?

There is no limit to the indignity of being alive.

You gotta calm down, dude. Fix the nerve problem. Check out 'The Rock Warriors Way' by Arno Ilgner.

Uh, I think it's the gas problem more than nerves. Science has shown us that certain foods create more gas. Also, stop gulping your food down so gaddamn fast.

Also, fascinating calculations of how much lighter you become after farting. Yeah, you know it. You were wondering about that.

First of all I'm calling foul on the OP. This is a troll if I've ever seen one.

Second the video of the guy at the beginning of the thread heaving and sharting is one of the funniest if you have never seen it.

do you chew sugar free gum...? I went from gassy to classy on crux moves just by switching to fucking juicy fruit. this statement has not been approved by the food and drug administration. But really one time I cleared a crag out, I felt so bad:(

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
