Sean on a boulder by the 2nd pullout.

Description

Quartzite rock, not too chossy, just kind of gritty.

The approach isn't pleasant, especially if you end up on a goat trail and a lot of the routes aren't very well traveled, but if you have time it's worth exploring.

The weather is best in the summer, hit and miss in the spring and fall.

Camping can be found at "The Mudhole" between memorial and labor day, otherwise your best bet is Riley Creek campground just east of the crag.

Getting There

Right on Highway 2 just past Priest River, right before the town of Laclede.

Pass the first big road cut and then take the pull out on the left, a half mile down is another pull out as well.

I have been looking at road construction cut-outs in a different way ever since I started climbing. These are cool, creative bolted lines up the drill marks right off the road. So why didn't I find anything going up the 'natural' lines in the woods beyond the vertical road routes? Are you all developers still working on this? Next time I guess I will need a belayer as all I had was my harness, shoes, and chalk. Nice work, great scenery.
