Ice/Mixed Climbing Flicks?
|
Ice season is upon us and I was just wondering if anyone was familiar with any good ice or mixed climbing flicks for a little bit of winter stoke. I'm already familiar with Petzl's Quebec Ice Trip and Scottish Ice Trip to Ben Nevis, so anything besides that would be great. |
|
I really enjoyed the Continuum Project. It's not pure ice, but well worth it. |
|
You can download The Pinnacle off the Hot Aches site - you'd hard pressed to find a better winter climbing film. |

Also, "Higher Ground" was the film that preceeded The Continum Project, and has some great mixed action and a commentary by Jeff Lowe about the evolution of mixed climbing.Forgot about "Higher Ground" - I really enjoyed that one. Haven't seen "The Pinnacle", but know of it. I'll have to download it. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Some great suggestions above! Higer Ground & Continuum are great films. |

I was just thinking about this same topic. The '11 Reel Rock Tour has a great feature called Ice Revolution on Will Gadd and Tim Emmett (no relation!) developing tough routes at Helmcken Falls, but sadly we can't get it yet. |

vertical limit!! do you need a copy if so i'll mail it, it's like so inspiring, and the skills you'll pick up are invaluable! |

For instance, BD doesn't even have "No Pain, No Gain" on their website any longer, and Psyche Night isn't on the M9 website either. If you happened to know where any of these still existed that'd be great. Regardless, thanks for the suggestions! |

Anyone willing to send me the Continuum Project if I pay medial mail postage to and from? PM please |
|
I'll look around. |

You beat me to it, i just got done watching this. WOW. |
|
dear god that video was sobering. my compliments the two climbers for showing well thought out self-rescue skills |
|
Just got the chance to watch that. Absolutely amazing, really puts it in perspective. Makes me think of Touching The Void as well. I definitely agree with it being sobering. |

This video is covered in detail and analysed by Will Gadd on his blog. It also includes a very lengthy response to the discussion by Ed Warren, the injured climber. Very worth reading and going through the comments, as well as Ed's response |
