Hey everybody,

So, my partner and I were going to go to khatahdin, but it looks like the park is going to be very strict this year about 7 day window on reservations. So, as an alternative, we were wondering if there is a guidebook to Quebec ice? Is it good? Also, we aren't looking to solo la pomme d'or (i.e. Not alpine ice climbing gods) So, if the only recommendations are WI-6 horror shows... feck.

My wife and I did a short ski/ice climbing trip to quebec after christmas, we only did 1 day of climbing, but we climbed here

mountainproject.com/v/monta…

its not a huge place...but plenty of single pitch leads and topropes with an easy approach in a scenic area. i wouldnt spend a week there, but its good for probably a day or two of climbing

Staying in the same area and headed north & east you'll find some more nice areas such as:
Lac Sylvère (St-Donat)
Around St-Emilie-de-l'Energie:
Lac Kael
Mont Barriere (1 hour approach)
Further east:
Mastigouche
Pont Rouge

Lots to do

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
