I really like a pair of workman-type gloves called Ninja Ice HPT. I got them at a home-depot like store, they're quite warm, super grippy and really cheap (like $6) they have a rubber palm, so you can't use them to rap, but I wear them when I'm climbing and pop on an old pair of shell gloves when I'm doing anything else. those ninja ice gloves are great.

What Jon H didn't mention is that the main reason he carries 5 pairs of gloves is because he keeps dropping them!
