Don't fall in the river or else death may occur!!

Description

This is a page to submit winter shorties or traverse problems neither of which you need to tie into ropes (though some might have some height and/or commitment factor no less).

Getting There

Boots crampons and tools are the only requirements. Some of you may prefer those hard mixed sneakers with the points screwed directly to the sole).

What's the potential for rock bouldering at Smarts Brook?

Jay. There probably is some river bouldering potential at Smarts brook, but it might be hard to access without getting your feet wet. There is a deeper section of gorge just upstream from the ice bouldering. There are a few icy mixed routes which were a little intimidating with the conditions that day that get you well into the broken ankle zone of fall potential. If the river was deep enough I bet you could find some lines. Otherwise maybe you could prop a pad against some protruding river rocks.
