Seasonal Bird Nesting Closure MORE INFO >>>
This area is a nesting site for ravens. The landowners ask that climbers avoid the climbs/areas where ravens are nesting. The nesting period generally lasts from mid May to late June/early July. During this time, observe any closure signs.

Private Land-gate closed and locked by nightfall. MORE INFO >>>
Sugarloaf is a privately owned recreation area. The park is closed at night and the gate is locked. Allow enough time to pack, hike, and drive out the oneway road to the gate before it is locked.

Description The route starts off in a small chimney that narrows toward the top. This is the crux of the route. Once you pass the chimney the route is an easy, slabby climb.

| You can lead this route safely with some complication. climb the lower part of the cave route to around the obvious constriction. Protect in the good crack back in the cave and then get a cordellete threaded around the obvious constriction on this route (rather awkward). Clip it, pull your gear in the cave, downclimb to the beginning, and now do the bombay chimney from the bottom with the threaded constriction as your pro. |

| I protected the crux in much the same way Mark suggests above - fun adventure climbing! |
