Trailhedral Rock, Hydrahedral climbs north-facing,...

Description This an obvious trailside dihedral. After failing at the lip for many years, I came down it on a rope to clean the upper slab. Judging from the amount of moss and lichen on all the upper holds, it's been a long time since its been ascended....much better now. Go do it! Apparently this has been done with 2 different exits. We moved right up the arete to a good, right-hand, finger bucket to top out. The other exit would involve going straight up the face on very bad holds...this version seems much harder.
Location You can't miss it as you hike up the Bear Canyon trail.
Protection Flat landing (on trail) but highball enough that 3-4 pads are nice.

| Glad to see somebody has also sent this, I also rapped it way back when late 1980s, very slopey, balancey top moves. I have over the past few years been returning to some old problems that I climbed back in the 1980s, mostly for GPS readings for OSMP. Several problems appearred grungy, a few had trees or bush over grown in front of them. I believe I initially rated this B2-3, then was told it had been given a V6 rating. It maybe harder, if not way harder, and somewhat hb. |

| Nice to see these problems getting traffic again. I don't know when the FA was done (Horan?), but it was sent in 2006/07. Lots of other good problems around. |
