Hi Everyone!

I'll be in Huaraz for a few days this summer following a mountaineering expedition and I'd like to do some rock climbing. I'll be free starting the morning of July 16 through the evening of July 19 (4 days total). Heading back to Lima on July 20. Sport or trad, cragging or multi-pitch, up for whatever. Looking for safe and psyched partners. Also recommendation. Like, should I just head out the hut at Hatun Machay and see who's there? I'll have harness and shoes but no rope or rack (already taking quite a bit of gear down).

Please let me know if you've got ideas, suggestions, or if you wanna partner up!

Best wishes for a great summer,

Kalil

Hatun Machay is the best place to find psyched partners and good (for peru) rock climbing. Its pretty cheap to rent gear from Andean Kingdom if you need draws/rope (its in the 'Gringo Square' near chili heaven and 13 buhos) and if your timing is good they (andean) usually help organize a handful of ppl taxiing all the way to the refugio at once so itll be cheaper and a shorter trek (you can get there via collectivos and taxis but it can be a big pain in the ass and very time consuming)

Thanks, Peter!

I'm thinking I will probably just head to Hatun Machay for 4-5 days around July 16-17 and try to find folks to climb with. I'll probably rent a rope and draws in town for that time just so I'm properly equipped.

If anyone's going to be around, hit me up!
