H.R. 1526 -- Anybody heard of it? It appears to be an intentionally misleading bill that aims to change the way we manage our national forests. It would mandate that large areas of back country are logged for profit, with little to no environmental oversight (up to and including the endangered species act). It comes off to me as an over reach, with potentially devastating consequences for the future of our forests, which already experience extensive logging across the country.
