Hello,
Over the past weekend I had an awesome time climbing some of the more obvious crack lines up at Horse Flats and would like to explore more of them soon. Where can I find more information on this area ? Or, if you if you have suggestions on lines other than what are posted here. Thanks for your help!

What else is there other than that .10b thin crack, boulderwise I mean?

Hah, I should have been more clear. I was kinda hinting towards the question you asked. The few I know are the Y Crack, the short 5.7 along the trail (White Crack?), and two short cracks that share opposite sides of a boulder in the X5 area.

I did not have to much time to explore and was hoping there was more...

The top rope spot has a crack like thing... 11b ish???? ... Sorry I dont know the name with out the guide book. Its right next to the 4 star problem named, The yardarm. I park up top, by a small information board, and walk the fire cut, to get to this place.

Another good crack may be found about 1 mile from HF. Park on the AF road right where you turn into the HF road. If you cross the street, south, you can pick up the PCT. go up hill about 1/8 mile, look for a trail going to your right. Follow this south and around the ridge, you pass under a slabby formation, with no climbs, keep trending around and start to climb up toward a much larger formation. You follow a ridge up to this large formation. (you can see this formation when you get close to HF while driving up from LA, out on the sunny side of mt. Waterman) the hike takes about 45 min/1hr

You will find a crack, fingers to hand, to fist. its about 55 feet high. I think its about .10c/d.

I did this with Rob Brown, we figured it had been climbed before. it takes great gear.

have fun

Awesome information Guy! That is exactly what I am looking for. The next time I head up there I will be sure to set some time aside to give it a go. Thanks!

cool... here is another little gem, not a crack but a worth while little climb.

If driving up from LA, on the 2 ... pass the HF turn off and keep going about 1/4 mile...

At the beginning of the long straightaway, pull over and look uphill-to the south- you see three formations sticking out of the hill. The closest one has a bolted climb on it that is 30 meters long.
It is 10d and has like 6 or 7 bolts.
The hike is about 40 min, work up the ridge a little to the right of the tooth and cross over.

have fun
