It looks like some crags on the south side of the Poudre River are close to burning, according to the latest iteration of the InciWeb map, if they aren't already.

I'm hoping the fire won't jump the river like it has in other places.

Anyone have any other info?

Update from my friend Fred:

"The Echelon areas on the east side of the tunnel are untouched but the area near the Sail up and to the east of that area burned a bit. The Crystal Wall area looked ok; no trees burned in that area that I could see but across the river at The Palace there was considerable burn up higher and along the Poudre Face area. The areas down low in the drainage at The Chamber at The Palace looked like they were unscathed."

Additionally, some of the pullouts off 14 are closed. I read on the destination page that climbers were getting booted from the area and even ticketed ($125!) as of a few days ago. Evidently, the canyon was closed to recreation except rafting and fishing.

Anyone know when it's supposed to fully open?

I talked to a ranger yesterday and he said because of the number of unknown hot spots and increased erosion potential it wasn't likely the areas past the tunnel would be open till the end of august!!!!
