I'm taking a EMR class and learned today that Hep B can survive several days in dried blood. All those cracks with blood I've noticed through the years.
Agreed. I am a RN. There is a vaccine that you can get that involves receiving shots over 3 sessions to complete the course of the vaccination process. Even if there were dried blood in cracks and crevices, they have to enter your bloodstream in some way or you to become infected. I'd say the chances are pretty slim honestly - but if you're worried, talk to your MD and see what their thoughts are concerning this. Most MD's would be more than happy to comply and vaccinate you if you're concerned. Vaccines + office visits = money - and that's business!
I wouldn't worry about it per se unles sone is in a HIGH RISK profession like I am, or as a Dr, EMT, Paramedic, Nurse, etc.
