Hi All,

I am going to be in the Seattle area soon and am trying to find a place to camp close to the city. The best thing i have found is a KOA but the only thing they have available is 40.00 a night and that is a bit expensive to sleep in a tent. my questions are:

1) Does anyone know of camping near Seattle? I will likely spend most of my time near Beacon Hill and Kirkland.

2) Any of you MP'ers have a downstairs/ garage apartment you want to rent out for about 5-7 days? It will be me and my fiance. I am a psychologist and she is still in grad school. We are both decent people and wont kill you/ destroy your place. We both appreciate you not killing us either.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mac

Saltwater State Park might be the nearest sanctioned camping to Seattle proper, not far from I-5. What about couchsurfing.org or airbnb?

+1 for Couchsurfing. Shouldn't be too hard to find someone in Seattle.

Judging from the large quantity of tents under I5 I'd say it's pretty easy to find some camping in the city. J/K

Saltwater State Park, Dashpoint State Park, Under I5. If you're looking for being near a climbing area I'd recommend dirt bagging at Index.

Thanks for all the info so far. I haven't ever used couch surfing but should look into it.
