What about scheduling some Island Time this winter?

As you can see, they don't get too bent out of shape about things on Cayman Brac. It's been a few years, but they'll get around to fixing this eventually. What's Cayman Brac? Well, it's an island in the Caribbean that is a sport climber's paradise with limestone cliffs around 3/4 of it. It has an amazing variety of climbs, including Adventure Climbing right over the sea (See video this thread). It's also the only place in the Caribbean that is all titanium bolts, so you don't have to worry about them breaking. A British Territory, the three Caymans Islands are English speaking, have first-class medical care, and safe food and water. Cayman Brac, one of the small islands, is about 12 miles long and a mile wide. It has a population of about 1500 people (the size of my high school), no traffic lights, no stress and practically zero crime. --- Invalid image id: 108527716 --- Many more climbing photos and a free climbing guide is downloadable at climbcaymanbrac.com. Wow... I've traveled to Cayman 12 or 13 times with my family and have never made it to either of the small islands... and had no idea there was any climbing... sadly I'm not planning any trip in the near future.. but the next time I go.... |

That place looks amazing! |

I have thought about it. Looks like a lovely place to visit, but I'm just not a strong enough climber -- my limit tends to be around 10a/b. |

Here's a taste of the adventure climbing on Cayman Brac. |

Many people have told me they like the snorkeling as much, or more, than the climbing on the Brac. As you can see, we're in about 10 feet of water and the big creatures are friendly. |
