Description Suggest change

Two towers of purple quartzite meet up at the crack between them. Walking up there used to be a large cobble that was lodged above the space to belay, but it has fallen.

Getting There Suggest change

Hike about a half mile down the tumbled rocks trail from the parking lot by Messenger Creek looking out for when you see two very large boulders on your left far up (mid-way to the wall) a talus field from the trail, then you should navigate up the talus until you see Dead Tree Wall. The Hangman Towers will be on your left if you are facing Dead Tree Wall. I don't have a better description at the moment, the Sven Olof Swartling and Pete Mayer guidebook has only a brief description of one route (a hand crack) on these towers.

The old guidebook by Sven Olof Swartling describes getting to Dirty Inside Corner 5.6 which is the route that is on the climbers left of Hangman Towers Offwidth,"There are scattered rocks which deserve some mention 100 to 500 feet north of Dead Tree Wall. ... Deep inside corner and crack with overhang. ... To avoid the possibility, use an incredibly dirty chockstone".
