View from the Visitors Center
The Summit area of Haleakala National Park is an awesome area of different colors of volcanic soil. The summit of 10,023 ft is the highest spot in Maui and you can see several of the other Hawaiian islands from the top. Hiking around the park almost feels like being on the moon with all the smooth sandy hills and craters.
Head up Hwy 378/Crater Road to the summit. (Main Area)
Haleakala National Park also has a rainforest area in Kipahulu past Hana on Highway 330.
