Gunks Friday Crowds?

Was going to go on Thursday to avoid weekend crowds, but now the weather looks poor. Typically speaking, how are the crowds on a Friday, compare to Saturday or Sunday?

I usually go on either Monday or Friday. Only went once on a Saturday this year and that was enough: almost couldn't park.

We plan on being there this Friday.

Keep in mind that this w/e October 27th at 4:00 pm, the Gunks Climbers Coalition (GCC) will be hosting it's bi-annual BBQ and auction. The event will take place at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center. More crowded than usual.

Crowds are much worse on weekdays, please only go on weekends.

Ok, just kidding. You are right in guessing that Fridays are a little more crowded, but I feel like I've always been able to get on whatever I want on pretty much any weekday.

For what it's worth, on later fall days when the forecast is a little iffy or it's overcast, you can often have the entire cliff to yourself on a weekday. Awesome!

Yeah the weather is looking iffy on Thursday; I'd just wait and see, but I'm driving out Wednesday night so I don't want to waste a trip out if it ends up raining.

Any weekday is better than Sat/Sun.

I climb in the Gunks a lot on Fridays. It's never crowded when I've been there.

I was there on Friday, 10/5 and it was much less crowded than the following Sat and Sun. And that was with a forecast that heavily favored Friday over the weekend.

Its supposed to be raining at the gunks tuesday-thursday. Then again sat and sun. mon tues. Real rainy fall this year...

Most non-roof routes are going to be awful wet. If its a long drive prob not worth it.

Only supposed to be 20% chance of showers tomorrow.Overcast and mid to upper fifties.Should be pretty empty tomorrow.
