Description Suggest change

Mostly shaded area (it's a canyon). This area can be exceptionally crowded, especially on weekends, due to it's close proximity to Canmore and Calgary. The ice climbing is excellent quality if it hasn't been beat into utter submission.

The classics of the area include:
His (WI4)
Hers (WI4)
Grotto Falls (WI3)

Getting There Suggest change

From Calgary:
Head west on the Trans Canadian Highway to Canmore. Take exit 114 towards Exshaw just after entering the mountains. This is AB-1X. Turn left onto Alberta 1, towards Exshaw. Park in the Grotto Canyon parking area on the right at the signs. There is plenty of parking and an outhouse. If you hit Exshaw, you went a few km to far. Follow the designated trail west out of the parking area. Turn right into the canyon and walk up the creek.
