Description
The Grosse Fermeda is very widely known as is it's South Face Route which was widely publicized in the Walter Pause book "100 Genusskletterein in Den Alpen." The fantastic summit is reached by a very easy route established in 1887 by M. Bettega, et.al. (UIAA Gr. II-III). This route encompasses 2,100 feet of climbing and 8 leads roped. Descent by either downclimbing the ascent route, or an abseil piste involving 13 abseils.
