Description Suggest change

Almost all of the routes in this area are better accessed in winter when you can travel across the frozen Lake. Many of the routes can only be accessed from the lake. Except on the higher points the area doesn't get any sun between October and April because of the north facing aspect. In the summer there is usually a few parties of hikers out at the lake but in there is rarely anyone else there in the winter.

Getting There Suggest change

Take a Water or air taxi from Homer to the Grewink Lake trail head at the beach and then walk the 4 mile easy trail in to the lake and Glacier.
