Description 

This upstream section of the gorge has climbing on both sides of the gorge from the tight confines of the starting section to the more open sections of the gorge towards the southern portions of the area.

The gorge runs mail north south for this section meaning if you climb on the western / northern side of the gorge you will be blessed with sunshine for the majority of the day. On the hottest summer days you can escape the sun by heading over the the other side and find some shade.

There are over 15 major climbing sectors to be found in this area, without doubt the best and most popular is Falaise de l'Escalés.
