This cool and secluded area lies to the SW of Stirrup Tank parking. There are a handful of climbs here.

Getting There

Hike south out of the parking area in the sandy wash past the Stirrup Towers. Hike past the climb The Moaning Man (Dissatisfaction Rock Area) until you are at the edge of the climbable formations. Take a canyon which heads off to the right (west) Hike in this canyon for about ten minutes until you see a large cool orange/rust-colored boulder off to the right (north). This is the landmark and marker for you to head right again (north). Soon you will enter a narrow corridor. This is Graham's Playpen Area. Allow about 20 min. for the approach.

Looks like a cool area.. tried to find it today to no avail. Followed the directions to the "T" (or to the minutes described) but somehow we couldn't find the proper "rust-colored boulder" (everything's rust-colored! ha). Maybe next time.

I see that now.. Without a book or a map, my mountain-project-guided quest to find this area was somewhat of confusing. For future people-like-me, can a GPS coordinate or location map be added?
